My main aim as an artist is to create  artwork that the genenal  public can find accessible, though I appreciate the conceptual art movement that has been dominant in the last fifteen years I can see that for many people some of the concepts would be a little hard to grasp and possibly elitist.

Living with, and working alongside fine
art students throughout my degree I had
the opportunity see how the fine art
world works, visiting exhibitions and
seeing my fellow students handling the
ever changing art scene. I wanted to find
a common ground between the conceptual
artworld and the everyday life.

I have a great love of music and find pop
culture to be fascinating so it seemed a
natural progression to combine the two
within my artwork, creating bright,
stylized portaits of musicians for mass
consumption, easily recognised and
accessible.  first exhibition ‘Demons’
2004 focused on musicians that had used
their inner torment to create and was
greatly received within the local art
community and after that the commissions
came flooding in.

Seven years on, and after several successful
exhibitions, I have developed a
respectable client base and feel confident
working alongside fine artists, though I
think due to the highly stylized nature of
my work I will always consider myself to
be an illustrator .
